Blaine Marchand is returning to Ottawa from an overseas assignment just in time for our event, where he will read from The Craving of Knives (Buschek Books 2009), a mature, sensual and courageous collection of poetry that was published while he was away. This work follows Aperture, from the same press (2008). Blaine is also a novelist, a non-fiction writer, and a former newspaper columnist (the popular “Queeries,” 1992-2005) for Capital Xtra. He has won several literary awards including the Archibald Lampman Award for A Garden Enclosed (1991). He was a co-founder of Sparks Magazine and Independent Ottawa Writers.
Welcome back, Blaine!
