Sean Zio began writing and performing spoken word in 2004 and has since been featured in a number of events including Outspoken (2006), the Dusty Owl and Muse Reading Series, the Counter Cultural Carnie fundraiser for Camp Ten Oaks (a summer camp for children of LGBTQ parents) and the Festival Voix D’Ameriques in Montreal (2007). A strong believer in community activism, he opened for the musical group Lal at a Books to Prisoners event at the University of Ottawa (2008). He has worked as a creative writing instructor for the City of Ottawa and currently runs a weekly creative-writing, open-membership group in Old Ottawa South.  He makes his living as a professional editor/writer and is a key organizer of Ottawa’s craft and zine fair, Ravenswing.  Learn more about Sean.
