Lambda Foundation seeks to advance human rights education and research through university and other awards to graduate and undergraduate students successfully doing worthy and relevant studies in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) issues in many different fields.
Our goal is to increase the number of Lambda Awards across the country, strengthen existing ones, and establish new high school awards for youth involved in human rights endeavours such as gay/straight alliances and anti-bullying campaigns.
For these major educational projects, we seek the enthusiastic involvement of donors, campaign organizers and participants.
We endeavour to draw public attention to our award recipients as valuable role models and, through their work and ours, build bridges of understanding with other equality seeking groups and individuals towards a truly progressive Canadian society.
Each Lambda Foundation scholarship fund is managed on behalf of our donors according to specific agreements with each university and high school concerned. Lambda is volunteer-driven in order to keep administrative costs low, ensuring that the money raised goes to the worthy recipients of our awards.
